Road Rage: New Hyde Park Man Hits Victim After Following Him Into Manhasset Eatery, Police Say

A man is facing multiple charges after a road-rage incident at a Long Island restaurant.

The incident began in Manhasset at around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, near TGI Friday's located at 1445 Northern Blvd., when Antonio Condello, age 48, of New Hyde Park, had a verbal argument with a 39-year-old man, Nassau County Police said.  

"During this altercation, Condello stepped out of his vehicle and retrieved a firearm from the trunk while yelling at the victim, placing him in fear for his safety," according to a statement by police.

Condello then followed the victim into TGI Fridays Restaurant and punched the victim several times in the face, before fleeing the scene, said police.

Following an investigation, officers located Condello at his residence and placed him into custody without incident.  

Detectives recovered a black firearm under the passenger’s side floormat of Condello’s vehicle, said police. 

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Condello has been charged with:

  • Second-degree menacing,
  • Third-degree assault,
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He is due to be arraigned on Thursday, May 25 at First District Court in Hempstead.
